Dr. Yoon’s experience with open and arthroscopic techniques allows her patients to explore various treatment options to determine which best fit their condition. Dr. Yoon is dedicated to educating her patients on their orthopaedic conditions to help them develop a personalized treatment plan. While obtaining her degree in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Yoon developed a passion for research and has subsequently published her research in peer reviewed orthopaedic journals. Dr. Yoon is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Mina Abdelshahed

Dr. Mina Abdelshahed

Dr. Mina Abdelshahed is a native of Union, NJ. He graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a bachelor of arts in biological sciences and a minor in psychology. Dr. Abdelshahed then attended Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School where he received his Doctor of Medicine Degree, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Society. After medical school, he completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Abdelshahed earned the notable distinction of being selected by the faculty and administration to serve as an Administrative Chief Resident. During his residency, he received a wide range of orthopaedic training from nationally and internationally recognized orthopaedic surgeons considered leaders in their fields. There, Dr. Abdelshahed trained at University Hospital, the busiest Level 1 Trauma center in the tri-state area, preparing him to manage all aspects of Orthopaedic Trauma. Further, he was nominated multiple times by medical students for the Golden Apple Resident Teaching Award for excellence in teaching and, upon graduation from residency, was the recipient of the Orthopaedic Resident Teaching Award. Dr. Abdelshahed currently resides in Northern New Jersey with his wife and two energetic sons. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, sports and outdoor activities, and avidly rooting for the New York Rangers, Jets, Knicks, and Mets.

Dr. Robert Pae

Dr. Pae is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. A respected author and lecturer, Dr. Pae’s articles have been published in professional journals, including Principles of Orthopaedic Practice, and he has made presentations to peer groups throughout the country. After earning both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Connecticut, Dr. Pae completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook and a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Pae specializes in surgery of the upper extremity including the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, with a special interest in congenital hand problems.

Dr. Hassan treats acute and chronic Orthopaedic conditions and specializes in Sports Medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery. He earned his bachelor of arts degree magnum cum laude in biology from Columbia University. He was awarded his medical degree for Albert Einstein College of Medicine and went on to an orthopaedic surgery residency program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Montefiore and Jacobi Medical Centers. He completed the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He subsequently joined Mount Sinai Hospital’s Brooklyn Heights Medical Group where he served as an attending physician and clinical instructor for Mount Sinai Health System and directed the orthopaedic department in Brooklyn Heights. His specialty training included medical and orthopaedic team coverage for the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League, the Washington Nationals in Major League Baseball, the Baltimore Blast in the Major Indoor Soccer League, and many collegiate sports teams. Dr. Patel grew up in Queens, went to medical school in Brooklyn and obtained orthopedic surgical training in Manhattan. After practicing outside the city, he decided to return to Brooklyn where he started his medical journey. Dr. Patel is a board-certified Orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty training in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery. Dr. Patel attended medical school in Brooklyn at State University of New York Downstate Medical School (SUNY Downstate), graduating in the top of his class where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He subsequently did his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at NYU/ Hospital for Joint Diseases, one of the nation’s top orthopedic surgery residency programs. Dr Patel then pursued further training at Harvard Medical School where he completed at fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular surgery at the Massachussets General Hospital where he gained extensive experience in complex hand and upper extremity conditions.
